Candy's Mothers

Candy Candy is originally a manga written by Kyoko Mizuki and illustrated by Yumiko İgarashi.


Kyoko Mizuki is one of the pen names of Keiko Nagita. She 's born on November 28th 1949 in Tokyo. She worked as an actress in a theater company when she was a teenager and wrote short stories for a while. She wrote her first manga story when she was 20. She lost her father when she was young and ten years later she lost her mother. Candy Candy made her known worldwide. She then wrote other stories, especially for children.

Yumiko Igarashi is born on August 26th, 1951 in Hokkaido. She has always dreamt to become a professional mangaka and she did it. She sent her works to many publishers. In 1968, her first manga, Shiroi Same no iru Shima is published in the Ribbon magazine. She became famous after Candy Candy, then she illustrated many other works like Lady Georgie, Heidi. She also wrote some manga like Mayme Angel or Ann wa Ann.


Yumiko Igarashi was the Manga guest of honor of Japan Expo 2011.
